What we are doing
In 2008, amongst numerous other projects, the Foundation will participate in:
1. The creation of an additional day-hospital to alleviate overcrowding in the current one (by allocating $550,000).
2. The renovation of the Cardiology patient reception to improve service.
3. The Psycho-Oncology program for cancer patients, providing them with emotional support and guidance through treatment and afterwards. To view cancer nutrition-rehabilitation (CNR) video click here
4. Renovations to the surgical 8th floor, as part of the consolidation to our Cardiovascular Program, to accommodate the transfer of ALL cardiac surgery patients from the Montreal General Hospital to the Royal Vic. This now makes the Vic the centre for all cardiac surgery at the MUHC.
5. Renovations to the East side of the 5th floor. We will also bring ALL gynecology services from the Montreal General to the Royal Vic.
6. The expansion of our Intensive Care Unit, from 25 to 27 beds – all of which will be in private rooms to protect these especially vulnerable patients.
